When you arrive

Your safety is our highest concern. Doors will open approximately 45 minutes prior to show time, so please arrive early and leave plenty of time for security screening. All bags are subject to inspection and all guests will go through a metal detector before entering the St. James Theatre. No weapons of any kind, including firearms, knives, tasers, mace, and pepper spray, are allowed. Additionally, personal alarms, glass bottles/containers, lighters, bikes, e-bikes, e-scooters, illegal substances, and alcohol are not permitted. Theatre Management reserves the right to prohibit other items as deemed necessary.

Where are your seats?

Orchestra seating is accessible without steps, with the exception of rows Q, R, S, and T in the Right and Center Orchestra sections. Mezzanine seating is located on the 2nd level, up 29 steps from the Orchestra. Balcony seating is located on the 3rd level, up 76 steps from the Orchestra. On the Mezzanine and Balcony levels, there are approximately 2 steps up/down per row. There are no elevators or escalators at the theatre. All stairs to and in the Mezzanine and Balcony levels have handrails.

What to wear?

While some theatregoers do get dressed up for their visit to our theatres, you are welcome to wear what makes you most comfortable.

Drinks and snacks

Drinks and snacks can be purchased at the bars on each level of the theatre. Please bring concessions to your seat to enjoy.

Restrooms

Restrooms are located down 1 flight down from the Orchestra, and on the Mezzanine and Balcony levels. All staircases to the restrooms have handrails. There is an accessible, single-stall, all-gender restroom on the Orchestra level. We encourage you to use the restroom that best fits your gender identity or expression.

Coat check

The coat check is located on the Orchestra level. The charge is $3 per item.

Take home something to remember

Merchandise is available for purchase on the Orchestra level before curtain, during intermission, and directly after the show.

Assistive devices

The St. James Theatre offers D-Scriptive devices, I-Caption devices, audio induction neck loops, and infrared headsets. Access information

The St. James Theatre offers Wheelchair Accessible seating, Aisle Transfer seating, Companion seating, and Vision/Hearing Accessible seating. All accessible seating at the St. James Theatre is located on the Orchestra level. There are no steps from the sidewalk to the Orchestra level. There are steps with handrails to access seating on all other levels of the theatre.

A Wheelchair Accessible seat is a seat that can be removed, at the request of the ticket holder, to accommodate a wheelchair or mobility scooter. Pricing for Wheelchair Accessible seating varies to capture the range of prices available throughout the theatre.

A Wheelchair Companion seat is a seat that is located next to or in front of a Wheelchair Accessible seat. A Wheelchair Companion seat is not a removable seat. Pricing for Wheelchair Companion seating varies to capture the range of prices available throughout the theatre.

An Aisle Transfer seat is a seat located on the aisle with an outer arm that can be raised or removed at the request of the ticket holder. Pricing for Aisle Transfer seating matches that of surrounding seats.

An Aisle Transfer Companion seat is a seat that is located next to an Aisle Transfer seat. An Aisle Transfer Companion seat does not have an adjustable or removable arm. Pricing for Aisle Transfer Companion seating matches that of surrounding seats.

Vision/Hearing Accessible seating is located in the middle of Orchestra Center Row B, the third row from the stage. Pricing for Vision/Hearing Accessible seating matches that of surrounding seats.

Once at the theatre, please ask an usher or other theatre staff member if you need assistance with your accessible seating.

Accessible tickets

Wheelchair Accessible seating, Aisle Transfer seating, Companion seating, and Vision/Hearing Accessible seating can be purchased on SeatGeek.com, if locations are available. After selecting a performance, click the Accessible button to display all accessible seating types. If you want to see only certain types of accessible seating, open the filter screen by clicking the button with horizontal lines in the SeatGeek app, or the top left button with vertical lines on SeatGeek.com. Use the toggles at the bottom of the filter screen to select specific types of accessible seating. Make sure to select “Any Quantity” of tickets at the top of the filter screen so that all available seats falling under the selected category or categories of accessible seating are displayed.

Accessibility by seating section

Orchestra seating is accessible without steps, with the exception of rows Q, R, S, and T in the Right and Center Orchestra sections. There are no steps to the designated wheelchair or aisle transfer seating locations. Accessible seating is available in the Orchestra only.

Mezzanine seating is located on the 2nd level, up 29 steps from the Orchestra. There are an additional 20 steps up to the remainder of the Mezzanine. The entrance to the Mezzanine is behind row E. All stairs to and in the Mezzanine level have handrails.

Balcony seating is located on the 3rd level, up 76 steps from the Orchestra. The entrance to all Balcony seating is behind Row H. All stairs to and in the Balcony level have handrails.

Please Note: On the Mezzanine and Balcony levels, there are approximately 2 steps up/down per row.

Elevators/Escalator

There are no elevators or escalators at the St. James Theatre. However, all stairs to and in the Mezzanine and Balcony levels have handrails.
