Jujamcyn Theaters

Jujamcyn Theaters, founded in 1956, owns and operates five theaters on Broadway - the St. James, Al Hirschfeld, August Wilson, Eugene O'Neill, and Walter Kerr. Jordan Roth, Paul Libin and Jack Viertel are the company's President, Producing Director and Creative Director, respectively. Jerry Zaks is the company's resident director. Jordan Roth and Rocco Landesman are Jujamcyn's co-owners.

Among the many shows which Jujamcyn has produced or presented are: Angels in America, Big River, Caroline or Change, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, City of Angels, Death of a Salesman, Doubt, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Grand Hotel, Grease!, Grey Gardens, Guys & Dolls, Gypsy, Into the Woods, Jelly's Last Jam, Love! Valour! Compassion!, M. Butterfly, A Moon For The Misbegotten, Moon Over Buffalo, The Producers, Proof, The Secret Garden, Smokey Joe's Cafe, Spring Awakening, Take Me Out, Tommy, The Weir and six plays by August Wilson.

Jordan Roth

President

Jordan Roth joined Jujamcyn Theaters in 2005 and assumed the role of President in September 2009. He produced A Catered Affair (Winner Best Musical - Drama League, 12 Drama Desk nominations), the Broadway revival of The Rocky Horror Show (Best Musical Revival - Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle nominations), The Donkey Show, which ran 6 years off-Broadway with several international productions and The Karaoke Show. Jordan created Givenik.com, where theatergoers can purchase discounted tickets and give 5% of their ticket price to the charity of their choice. He serves on the boards of The Broadway League, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, The Times Square Alliance and Freedom to Marry. He graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University with degrees in philosophy and theater and is pursuing an MBA at Columbia University.

Paul Libin

Producing Director and Vice President

Paul Libin joined Jujamcyn Theaters as Producing Director in 1990. He started his professional theater career as an actor. Since then he has worked as a director, lighting designer, technical director, stage manager, managing director, company and general manager. He produced his first play in New York in 1958 and has since produced more than 250 productions on Broadway, Off-Broadway and on tour. A recipient of many awards, including seven Tony Awards, he is Chair of The Broadway League and serves on committees for the Tony Awards and Actors Fund, among others. He is President of the Circle in the Square Theatre School and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. He was Producing Director of Circle in the Square Theatre for twenty-seven years, President of the League of Off-Broadway Theatres for thirty years and is currently Adjunct Professor of Theatre Arts at Columbia University.

Jack Viertel

Creative Director

Since September of 1987 Jack Viertel has been Creative Director of Jujamcyn Theaters, in charge of creating and identifying new projects for the company's five Broadway theaters. Prior to this assignment, he spent two years as Dramaturg of the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles, and from 1980 to 1985 was the drama critic and arts editor of the Los Angeles Herald Examiner. He was the original conceiver and co-producer of Smokey Joe's Cafe, and is co-author of the musical Time And Again. He is currently the artistic director of City Center's Encores! series.

Rocco Landesman

President Emeritus / Co-Owner

Rocco Landesman became the President of Jujamcyn Theaters in September of 1987 and purchased the company in February of 2005. He served as President until August of 2009, when he was confirmed as the chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts. In addition to numerous Jujamcyn productions, he has co-produced three Broadway musicals, Big River, Into The Woods and The Producers. Before his career at Jujamcyn, he taught dramatic literature and criticism at the Yale School of Drama. He has written articles and reviews for many publications, including The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
